Dr. Richard Davies
Director of Strategic Planning for Energy and Environmental Sciences and Deputy Director for the Sustainable Transportation Program
Dr. Richard Davies is the director of strategic planning for energy and environmental sciences and deputy director for the Sustainable Transportation Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has over 25 years of research and development experience in manufacturing for light and heavy-duty ground vehicles and aerospace components. His experience includes 20 years in the U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory system developing and directing federally funded and privately funded research programs under collaborative agreements with automotive and heavy vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers. Dr. Davies holds a Ph.D. in Mechanics of Materials from the University of Strasbourg in France, an MBA from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
